Dear MASNers and Friends!
It has been 20 years since the Moving Anthropology Student Network was founded. The first seven years were a very active time. Transnational MASN conferences were organised annually, and sometimes twice a year. In addition, the network has and had built up a virtual infrastructure with the help of various websites and social media platforms. Everything self-organised and designed by students for students.
Through transnational exchange, MASN students have learned a lot from each other: about exciting student work and research, through heated theoretical, ethical and socio-political discussions, great media projects, and also from the different academic, regional and glocalised lives and contexts of the students. The best thing of all is the many friendships that have been formed, beyond national borders and regardless of the paths that MASNers have subsequently taken in life.
Even though the last ten years have been rather quiet we want to celebrate the 20th anniversary of MASN in Vienna, the birthplace of the network. Here, MASN has had a particularly vibrant life as part of the regional activities and the MASN Austria association. And we can look back on a series of great projects, collaborations and social gatherings. With this in mind, we would like to invite everyone associated with MASN, as well as the teams from Ethnocineca and Aqua Anthropos, to a relaxed and convivial anniversary evening. And to those who can't join us we're sending kindest MASN greetings.
